they obviously do not call it hari raya
i've got some arabs in my class here, and i was talking to one of them after class, and was just saying that tomorrow is the end of his fasting month thing. he was like yeah, today is the last day of fasting actually, mentioned the word ramadan also, explaining something. so i was like, u guys gonna celebrate tomorrow? wat is it called? n he says something i couldnt catch at all. oh its not hari raya. he was like hari wat??
something i never realised...
just after that, we met another arab guy who didnt go to the last lec, and he was holding a baby, outside the com lab. cute baby.
next dumb qns i asked was, "oh, whose baby is that?"
he was like, looking at me with that obviously face, "mine."
"oh..." damn...
didnt look like him mah, the baby was fairer then him, like it wasnt the same race or something, so tats y.
i wanted to ask him how old he was, but i thought, enough of dumb qns for one day.
the baby was really cute though, 10 months old.
i just saw a baby last fri, this singaporean guy do his masters, i think, from the navy, he has got his baby n wife over here. his baby was cute too, but everytime i came so say hi, the baby would just cry, until i was rather afraid of the baby instead of the other way.
so this baby (today), didnt cry when he saw me. oh i also wanted to ask if the child was a boy or a girl, but i thought better not. haha. so lets assume it a boy.
next not so dumb qns i asked was, "wat's his name?"
"al- *something something something* *some noise n complex curling of the tongue*"
i was like, "al wat?"
he repeats that chain of noises. ah... forget it la. i cant even get his own name right.
wanted to ask him, "is he made in newcaslte" but that would be another dumb qns, n he might not understand the qns anyway.
so i asked "was he born in newcastle"
yup he was...
cute baby...
