ok... so yes, i've not posted for awhile.
so, there's quite a bit i guess.
first up, my trip to Perhentian Island. It was fantastic.
The ride up took.... awhile... bout 10 hours.
The ride back took longer, bout 12 hours.
Long long ride, but we had the better coaches, the ones with longer leg room.
We arrived at like 0530 in the morning. Got off the bus, this taxi driver was calling out "kit kit, kit mon tey ro", cool....
It was a beautiful place, nice clear waters, big mosquitoes.
Big fat n juicy, and they walk! Easy to kill also. haha
The accomodation, is like 'kampong' style, simple bed and toilet, toilet with in house ants crawling about, they come with it. oh, and a fan.
went snorkelling the first day, and saw a lot already, just before getting out of the water, saw a black tip reef shark, small fellow, but still it was a shark, damn cool.... and a stingray
Started the diving course the next day, we had a Mexican instructor, cool right. He was a nice simple guy, always with a bandana, even underwater!
We went for the 4 dives to get certified, and i went for an extra dive on the fourth day.
Most of the people on the island are ang moh actually. Hardly any chinese or malays or indians. But we were there on the weekdays, so maybe thats why.
So, overall, diving is great fun, it really is like being in another world, where everything feels, sounds, look different.
